As an option, Lunaire CEO910W or CEO932W-2 or -4 model chambers may incorporate photostability test packages for photostability testing to standards of the International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH).

Lamp packages are designed with interchangeable fluorescent light systems that may include:

  • Daylight lamps for full spectrum
  • Artificial daylight stability testing
  • Ultraviolet A lamps for near ultraviolet testing

Features

Light Banks
Full Spectrum Artificial Daylight

  • Fluorescent daylight lamps, with
    light source at 400-700 nm
  • Electronic dimming ballast
  • Light intensity range: 300 to 650
    foot candles
  • Light variation over the product
area (70% of the shelf area) will be
    ±30% of setpoint

Near UV-Ultraviolet A

  • Ultraviolet lamp with a light source of 300-400nm
  • Electronic dimming ballast
  • Light intensity range: 7 to 25W/M2
  • Light variation over the product area (70% of the shelf area) will be ±30% of setpoint

Both Full Spectrum Artificial Daylight and Near UV-Ultraviolet A Banks

  • Product tray is 12 inches from the bottom of the light bank assembly
  • One lamp package can be provided in Lunaire’s CEO910W-2 or -4 models
  • Up to 3 lamp packages can be provided in Lunaire’s CEO932W-2 or -4 models

Light Control System

  • The flexibility of the light control system is built around the use of a microprocessor based digital indicator controller and a Detector Amplifier. This system can be
configured to control either of the two different types of lamp systems.
  • Detector amplifiers are current-to voltage
converter/amplifiers that are compatible with all SED type detectors, and can be easily calibrated against a standard NIST
traceable detector or light level in
    the field or laboratory.
  • Light intensity measured by the detector is sent as a current signal to the detector amplifier, which amplifies it and converts it to a 0-5VDC signal. The controller configured as a daylight or ultraviolet controller, processes this signal and displays actual light intensity in the light bank area.
  • Light intensity is controlled with a 0-10VDC output from the controller to the electronic
dimming ballast to produce and maintain a steady light intensity throughout the test cycle.
  • Set point and actual light intensity are simultaneously displayed on the controller. Each light system is equipped with an on/off switch and an indicating light.
  • Note: When photostability fixtures are incorporated on Lunaire chambers, the temperature uniformity will change to ±2.0°C after stabilization and ±5% RH on humidified models with the lights on or off.

Other Features:

  • Light banks are designed for easy removal for lamp change outs and are installed using the standard shelf slides. Ballasts are located on the rear of the chamber for
    servicing.
  • Lamp bank construction incorporates a reflective material that offers the same high
reflectance levels for both visible and ultraviolet wavelengths.
  • A hinged reflective cover panel on the front of each bank allows chamber door opening without disruption of light testing.
